Light-ness
At this time of year with a few exceptions, every continent celebrates light in one form or another. Isn’t this remarkable. We value light-ness so much we dedicate the darkest months (in the Northern Hemisphere) to celebrating it. With Yule we give thanks for the return of lengthening daylight hours. Knowing we’ve made it through the darkest part of the year and spring will soon be with us.
Today a whole new calender year is stretched out before us, 366 days. What will you choose to focus on? Will you make a commitment to light-ness, perhaps? This way of being in the world which flows from the heart space? A way which not only elevates you but the entire world too. Isn’t it interesting that words like light hearted, light headed, lightly, lightsome all relate to an elevated state of being. Is it possible you could choose such a word? As a reminder to tread a path of light-ness as the year unfolds?
As I give thanks for 2023 with all its challenges. Some of which are still to be resolved. I find myself embracing this day with lightness of spirt and 366 days of opportunity to look forwards. Today the sun dawned in fiery brightness and an early morning walk soaking up its light was much needed. There have been so many storms internal and external, so much rain, so many gloomy skies, it’s a beautiful reminder that with all things “this to shall pass.” Even when things are at there lowest ebb, the light is always present, within and without. Whilst 2023 was challenging at times, it was also a year of “blossoming.” I chose this word at the begining of the year as a guide and so many moments blossomed. New ideas, new beginnings, new endeavours, small moments, thoughts, revelations, understanding, all guided by light-ness. Inner wisdom we all possess. We just have to ask ourself for guidance.
What gifts did 2023 bring you? Even the challenges bring gifts even though it may not seem so at the time.
What does light-ness make you think of?

Of Being
The video shows that as one human family we all value and celebrate the light. Why then is it so difficult to see and value our individual inner light? We dim it to fit in or allow others to dictate who we should be and what we should do. Our soul, our inner light is a strand of our higher consciousness, which resides within the greater consciousness of the Cosmos. We have access to so much if we’d only listen to our inner truth and allow our soul to lead us. Trusting it to be our guide, our compass.
By choosing to embody this life I have never been left to walk it alone and I agreed to forget my truth so I could discover who I truly am. Who I truly am is a soul having a human experience. When I discovered this so very recently, a whole new world of experiences opened before me. I realise I can never be alone because my soul has the guidance of my higher consciousness and a whole host of beings. Beings who do not judge and love unconditionally. At our core I, and you reading this are beings of light just as they are. Eternal, ever evolving and seekers of wisdom. Some of you realise this but many do not. You, are never “only human” you are so, so, so much more.

“All of the lights of the world cannot be compared to a ray of the inner light of the self.” Anonymous
We are all energetic beings. Allowing our inner light to shine we tap into abundant higher vibrational energies. By stepping into our truth, our sovereignty, we attract those energies in abundance. If we practice the above for long enough the divide between what we become, what we were and lower, denser energies is to great, there is no stepping back. We view life and the world through a different lens. At times on our life path we may feel surrounded by darkness but the light we hold is the brightest beacon. It dispels the darkness and helps us see clearly, it is our guide. Through it we find peace, strength, hope and courage even when faced with what feels hopelessness. It shines so brightly it’s not just our guide but a bright guide to others. It becomes a place of hope, of belonging.
Can you be the inspiring light for our world which so many seek?

“We are all broken, that’s how the light gets in.” Ernest Hemingway
With these troubled times we are living through, never give up the hope that the light is diminishing. It’s in the darkest of moments the smallest of lights is the greatest beacon. Shining brightly each one of you illuminates the world creating an interconnected web of unity. Slowly but surely the light expands dispelling the darkness as your soul lights the way. Each kind word, each compassionate act, each outstretched hand in friendship, each laugh, each smile, each thoughtful act, each insight and the realisation we’re one human family, lifts the entire energetic frequency of the world.
So that one day the divide between the light and shadow will be so great there will be no going back to troubled times.
I thank you all for your service towards a brighter tomorrow.

I love this time of year. Not for myself I guess as my favourite time is when the days get longer and darker and colder (I’m a little hermit at heart) however, I love the joy it brings and the “light” I can see it brings to others as the light returns and the days grow longer. For those to are affected by S.A.D it is wonderful to see the light returning to their faces and being ☺️
I also have a deep resonance for the darker months particularly autumn. I understand your feelings for this. I remind myself it’s all about balance. I can’t have the months I love without the months I don’t resonate quite so much with. This year I will try and focus on the light-ness that unfolds and the unique gifts it will bring. Such as blossom, plants, birdsong, colour, all those things. S.A.D can be very debilitating for some so it’s very important we have this balance in the seasonal year for everyone’s well-being.
