We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we do not fall within the categories of controllers and processors required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Article 37 of the GDPR.

Subscription
By subscribing to our Site users are prompted to create a password, user name with the option of full name. This data is used to create a user account which facilitates access to comments on posts. Subscription to the site is indefinite until the user unsubscribes, requests unsubscription or is removed from the Site by the Site aministrators. Passwords are only known to the user creating them. You as the user are responsible for the security of your password. The Site owner can only send a password reset if requested by the user. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Comments
When users leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Spotlightr video hosting
This website uses Spotlightr (https://spotlightr.com) to power its videos. The Spotlightr platform tracks how you interact with the videos on this site: how much of a video you watch, at what points in a video you pause or rewind, etc. In some videos, it may be paused and a request that you provide your email address or name. You are under no obligation to provide this information, but we reserve the right to limit certain videos to identified users. The Spotlightr platform aggregates the data collected through the videos here, including names and email addresses, and provides it to us. The Spotlightr platform does not sell or provide the data it collects to third parties
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Your data is also used by the third parties mentioned who provide an email service, video hosting service and analytics service which allow us to know how and when users engage with our Site.
Other Disclosures
We will not sell or share your data with other third parties, except in the following cases:

- If it is required for any legal proceeding;
- To prove or protect our legal rights; and
- To buyers or potential buyers in the event that we seek to sell the business.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments. This is to provide a secure space for users.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.
User data will be stored for twelve months after the last log in to our Site. Prior to removal from our Site and the removal of your data you be will notified to your email address to give you the opportunity to remain a subscriber. You may unsubscribe at any time or request unsubscription at which point all your data will be removed from the site. The Site administraitors use their discretion to remove any subsriber and their data from this site who display, malicious, neferious intent, unsolicited or abusive behaviour towards other users or site administrators.
How we protect your personal data
We take security very seriously. In order to protect your security, we use the strongest available protection services. All data is stored on a secure server by our hosting provider Krystal Hosting. Data is only accessible by two administrators of the Site who uphold strict confidentiality at all times. Passwords are only known by and accessible to the user not the administrators of the Site.
While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.
