My story
My story so far?
A long and winding one. How do you squeeze fifty one years into a few paragraphs?

I currently live in North Yorkshire with my partner and our lurcher Bramble but I’ve lived in many places. We’re sandwiched between the Tabular Hills of the North Yorkshire Moors and the rolling chalk uplands of the Yorkshire Wolds. Not a bad place to be, though it has its moments.
My partner and I run a business together. It is based around our love of plants, the outdoors and a side helping of creativity. Just some of the reasons we’ve ended up in the wilds. But our reasons are many and varied, not limited to these three things. Like two sides of the same coin we are different but part of the whole. Our work ranges from maintaining gardens to planting design. At the heart of it all are plants.
Our aim? To green up the world…well our small corner. One plant at a time. A few years ago we started a micro plant nursery. The reason being we couldn’t easily get plants for the gardens we created. It’s no small task but we have plans for our small field of living, green souls. Like most things it takes time, patience and persistence, as everything falls to just the two of us. I have many aspirations and you’re currently reading one of them. The others are things for another time.
You’re perhaps wondering how I’ve got here.
I spent six years studying garden art and design at Leeds Beckett University. I graduated in 2015 with a 2:1 and a show garden at the Harrogate Flower Show. We gained a bronze medal. This entire year of my course was spent studying the concept of Biophilia and my thesis was on this topic. This is also one of the inspirations for this website. Prior to this back in the mists of time before being in Yorkshire I studied at art college. I have numerous art qualifications, ending this period of study with a degree in ceramics. Yes! ceramics, clay and whatnot. I still love this stuff.
In the last few years I began studying botanical illustration. Attending classes with award wining illustraitor Bridget Gillespie. I am also a founding member of the UK Association of Botanical Artists. I’m currently studying Intuitive Plant Medicine. An online course with One Willow Apothecaries which is based in the USA.

So this is a little bit about me. There is more. You can’t live fifty years without accumulating a life. Which leads me onto why some of you are probably here…
…but you’ll find that on the about Wild Biophilia page.

Thanks so much for inviting me to your blog β€οΈ
Yay we got there. Always happy to help with tech but I’m better with plants. π Plant stuff is coming and the thing I decided not to mention in the video is the possibility of teaching. Keep that under your hat though. And you’re most welcome π
I love following your little corner of pastures green. And thankfully I’ve finally managed to figure this out. Keep going my lovely friend β€οΈ
You have figured this out, thank you so much for being here. Sorry I forgot to tag you initially. Yes keep going, it’s all we can do isn’t it. π
Wow! What an amazing project! And that’s so cool that you studied ceramics. Maybe you’ll post some photos of your pieces sometime?!? π
Thank you, perhaps, we’ll see. π
