If you feed them…
This wasn’t what I intended.
When I set out to make a video for this post my intention was to tell you about some new plans related to work and the outdoor space where we live. It didn’t quite work out the way I intended.
I wanted to tell you a story but not with spoken words with image and gesture. I like the idea of unspoken video. A bit like the movies of old before the “talkies” arrived on the scene. Depending on what’s being filmed I sometimes think it’s all to easy to speak and the nuance of the moving image, gestures and good film is lost. I don’t want to be uploading boring, blurred video. Although the boring bit is subjective, that’s my intention.
I filmed all the B-roll I thought would be okay for my idea and at one point left the camera set up and rolling outside. When it came to editing the music and footage it rapidly turned into a different video entirely. The end result is what you see below.
I will be setting up some pages to put things under and wildlife will be one of them. There is just under ten minutes of film of the goings on above. Over the coming weeks I’ll edit this raw footage and upload it. Hopefully over time I can capture more of the fauna that passes through. Although the birds are more of the regulars who call this place home.
I still have the footage for what was my original plan and I’ll create another video for that and post it this time next week. Then there’s the post idea which was inspired by a chat with a friend. I mentioned this in my last email notification. I’m also working on revising a video for Sylvanhowl. It’s an updated version of the Wildman post which is on this site. If you don’t know what that is here’s a link:
I’m still adding to the Sylvanhowl site. I’m working on trying to understand how to edit the blog posts page. There are logo’s to work on which seem to have been waiting forever. (my partner will frustraitingly tell you about that) That’s not to mention all the things which need doing outside. There never seems to be enough hours to get everything done. And I’ve suddenly just realised the time isn’t what I think it is as the clocks have moved forward and hour. Sheesh! All I can do is keep at it.
I hope you enjoy this little story about some of the wildlife which frequents the garden. If you wish to know the species filmed ask in the comments.

All those gorgeous birds ???????? I loved watching that ☺️ and of course enjoyed your post xxx
Hello Honeybeez,
Thanks so much for your comment. The first small bird is a ‘Dunnock’ on the seed feeder.
Then the ‘mob’ arrives ‘Jackdaws’ followed by the larger ‘Crow’…”I’ll have all them peanuts!”
