The Shamanic Path

Last Thursday an opportunity arose for me to go for a walk in a place I’ve not been to before. Having worked in this village previously I noticed a footpath opposite where I was and wondered where it would lead. Although I approached from a slightly different route this day, that footpath joined the one I was on. So, taking my camera along I thought it would be an opportunity to walk and talk. To find a spot (with a little help, which is explained in the video) to tell you about a new direction my Spiritual Path is taking.
I know I have written in notifications telling you I had something to share for a number of months. I have dragged my feet for some reason. Finding the words to write has felt difficult and would have resulted in a post very time consuming for you to read. There’s a fine line between writing a post in long form content which then turns into a book.
At the begining of May I participated in a weekend Introduction to Shamanism. On this weekend some of the things I learnt were the art of shamanic journeying, working with Spirit helpers and animal guides plus healing practice. I also participated in a community healing. It was an intensely, emotional experience. The video below offers you an insight into my experience as I paused beneath the boughs of an oak tree to talk to you. There is humour and reflection as I contemplate this time and the next steps of the forthcoming journey.

At the time of making this video I mentioned about writing of the things I participated in. Whilst I’m open to talking about anything and do my best to be authentic and transparent. On reflection I feel some things are best left unsaid. Apart from some of this experience being intimately personal. I’m also trying to tread the line of honouring the work of my teacher, Dawn Song. I am doing my best to give you my reflections of how my Spiritual journey unfolds but also recognise that some things are between me and my Teachers, Spirit and Human.
I hope you all understand.
The next step of this practice begins in October. This is when I feel the ‘serious work’ begins, for want of better words. I mention in the video some of the things I will be involved in learning. There are more but I’ll reflect on these as the journey unfolds. Again treading the line between what to say and what not. Honouring the Spirits, Dawn Song and those things which personal experience can only give an understanding of.
I hope you enjoy the video, it has not been without it’s gnarly moments. My gratitude to Dawn Song for his gentle but dynamic ways. I look forward to the coming lessons, which I feel will be no less intense and emotional.
