About Wild Biophilia

Welcome seasonal soul.
This is a place to see the year unfold in a small corner of Northern Britain. A seasonal almanac tracking the shifting tides and cycles of the year, the night sky, the liminal spaces, folklore and perhaps unexplained mysteries.
It’s a combination of many things and interests all in one space. As such it may take a little time to settle into something cohesive. This was born out of a need to have a voice and not to be afraid of sharing it. Sharing my thoughts, art, photography, videos and things important. To welcome all wild and wondrous voices who need a place to be.
Hopefully its of interest to you, the reader and you’ll sign up for emails and join the journey.

This is my pagan practice which is focused on the Celtic seasonal quarters. It’s not prescriptive and guided by Spirit. Having said that I’ve always been conscious of following a tradition rooted in the land I am from. This has recently led me to the realisation I have unwittingly been practicing Druidry in many ways. With this awareness I begin a new chapter.
There are four main quarters: Imbolc (pronounced Imm’ulk) from February-April, the Spring quarter, Beltane (pronounced Bell’tane) from May-July, the Summer quarter, Lughnasadh (pronounced Loo’nassa) August-October, the Autumn quarter and Samhain (pronounced Sow’en) from November-January, the Winter quarter. Each is marked by a festival at it’s opening.
You will find an explanation of these quarters on the header bar above with a short video of each season for you to enjoy.

With these quarters as way markers and guide for the unfolding year it allows for exploration. To discover the world and seasons afresh through the lens of magic. Forging connections to the natural world and sharing extraordinary bonds of friendship with you.
My aim is to share a personal journey with it’s twists and turns, its highs and lows.

Wild biophila is centered around art, plants, people and place. My aim is for this to be a safe space where all are welcome, regardless of spiritual practice or not. A place for community, where I hope you’ll feel safe enough to share thoughts, inspirations and build friendships. The unifying theme is my magical practice running through it and only time will tell how this evolves. I have other ideas and plans for this little corner.
But for now let our journey begin, together. Our feet are set upon the path and arm in arm lets take a step into the seasonal year.
